My name is Jody Lane
I’m thrilled you stopped by my page because I’m a hair & makeup artist who loves helping people look and feel their very best…and after all that’s what you’re looking for
Finding someone who can translate your ideas and wishes is a challenge, I get that but helping you to bring your ideas to life is what I enjoy to do. I help brides, celebrities, models and anyone looking to have their hair and makeup done for their special day, event, production or shoot. I do this by offering top quality hair and makeup looks that won’t break the bank and help you to feel confident, well-groomed and looking and feeling your best.
I’ve helped hundreds of people over my 14 years as a Hair and makeup artist to feel tip top and confident by using excellent quality brands, years or experience and a personable approach.
I’ve been so lucky to have worked on SKY, BBC, Channel 4. I’ve worked at the Palladium, Royal Drury Lane, The BAFTAs and been featured in Vogue and I’ve assisted YSL’s Frederic Letailleur. I hope this helps by giving you some insight into where I’ve worked and to what level.
My top choice brands
Bobbi Brown, Chanel, Mac cosmetics, Illamasqua, Urban Decay, YSL, Dior, Nars, Charlotte Tilbury. There are so many fantastic brands out there, its crucial to have a varied kit working on so many different skin types. I love to mix in high street brands too such as Rimmel, No7, Revlon. Its hard to list every brand I use.
Wedding venues I’ve had the pleasure of working in
Aynhoe Park Oxford, Ardington House Oxford, Le Manoir Oxford, Ridge Farm Surrey, The Barn at Brynich Brecon, Hartwell House Bucks, Clearwell Castle Forest of Dean, Hunsham Court Devon, Lower Slaughter Inn and many more. From Cornwall to Ireland, London to Yorkshire I can be found enjoying being part of a brides special day.
Just in case you’re here to find out more about my non-biz life.
I have a little boy who I’m usually running from one baby club to another with and we share our cute home with my partner Steve and a little cat called Poppy. A good trip somewhere pretty in the UK is the norm, discovering places I’ve not been to is a favourite past time.
Of course I love anything to do with fashion and beauty and normally have my nose in a copy of Harpers Bazaar, Vogue, Elle among others. I studied make up at Shepperton Film Studios in Surrey and worked and lived in London which was so inspiring and every market on my doorstep was perfect for me to get inspiration.
At 22, I moved home (Forest of Dean) and generally embraced as much travel as I could. Spending lots of time in the South of France and USA seemed to be choice destinations.
Now I spend my time with tonnes of brides, models and artists creating anything from trendy bridal looks to dirtying down and it’s great.
